Moms - is age 3 worse than age 2?

because holy crap is M ever the biggest Diva lately. If this is how 3 will be, I need to drink a lot more.

She refuses to allow me to make any decisions re: her clothing, shoes, hair and is just such a spazz all the time IRT getting her way. She wakes up crying every morning for something and she is making me insane with the whining and complaining!

I don't know - that sounds pretty bad.  This could be the height of it for you.

For me - 3 was way worse than 2.

  • Find ways to make her think she is in control. Choices choices choices. We gave jack choices for everything and it helped so much. The beauty is you get to control the choices.

3 was our hard age. 4 is freaking lovely.

  • I have been in the Dear-God-why-would-anyone-have-another-child three's for about two months now.  I have been drunk 3 times so far.  I had no idea my child was capable of such asshattery.
    Go babies Caden!
  • Yeah, Floyd could be right.

S wasn't difficult at all at 2. Maybe 3 will be better for you!

    OMG I know! LOL LOL

  • Both my sons were great at age 2 - when they neared 3..............that is when my gray hair sprouted and has never left me.

I have a huge amount of stock in L'oreal now.

  • YES.

3 is entirely worse than 2.

  • I thought 3 was much easier.

After 2 it was a piece of freaking cake.

    4 is a complete joke.

On a weekly basis i was so grateful that we decided to hold off a year for another baby. I couldnt have survived sober. And now i am huge and pregnant and my charming 4 year old fetches things for me. Love him!

  • Three is much worse IMO.

I don't even understand the term "terrible twos."  WTH my kids were delightful at age 2.

    Three?  not so much.

  • Four has been a million times better than three. Three made me consider selling her defiant, opinionated little ass to the circus. Four has been 99% lovely so far. Knock wood.

  • For me, so far, hell yeah.  She is so bossy and we have a chernobyl grade meltdown daily.

    Three is really f?cking terrible.
    I like privacy. A lot.
  • Three has been hell for us. Although over the past couple of weeks he is the sweetest little boy ever. I'm hoping we're close to turning the corner to 4.

  • Heck yes. My son was an angel at 2. 3??? He is driving me insane. It's the whining and instant crying over NOTHING!!
  • Payne was adorable at two. He woke up a hell beast on his 3rd b-day and I'm dying for 4.

  • Also i didnt realize how awesome four was until I was around a bunch of three years olds and no joke felt i was getting pstd flashbacks.
  • Guys....I'm laughing/crying into my beer. At least I'm not alone.

  • I think 3 was way easier than 2, probably because I didn't have a baby on my boob while I was deflecting flying trucks, trains, whatever he was trying to break over her tiny head.

  • Yeeees.

We say it's the "That wasn't really so terrible 2's" and the "I'm going to sell you to the gypsies-3's".

  • Three is so much worse than two

  • Yes, yes, yes.  It got worse and worse for us until her 4th birthday.  Then magically, it started getting better slowly.  Hang in there.
  • I'm just going to go ahead and pretend I didn't read this.

    Yup.

  • Three year olds can suck it, I don't like them.

During the "terrible two's" I thought wow this sucks. And then he woke up a three year old and I wanted to die.

My question is why doesn't anyone tell you? Everyone I've asked said that three was worse than a moody, hormonal teenage girl, but nobody tells you that. They warn you of two, but three is like a secret society that nobody is allowed to talk about.
