what site should I use to blog?

I'm going to start a D&R blog.  I've never blogged in the past.  Which site do you recommend?

If you are super gung-ho about it, you can buy a URL from bluehost.com or godaddy, and setup a host server, which sounds very techy but it's super user friendly.  Then you can use Wordpress.  In my opinion, it seems as though the really successful blogs end up on an independent URL with a wordpress theme anyway, so you can cut right to the chase with that option.  Google's blogger and blogspot are both really quality options as well and there are a ton of successful bloggers that use those platforms too, plus I believe they are free in case you lose interest or don't want to invest any money.  We pay about $7 a month for our URL hosting.  Pick whatever you feel comfortable with.

I had never blogged before and went with wordpress. I didn't buy a domain name or anything, so my blog ends with ".wordpress.com" instead of just ".com" but I'm not trying to be the next yhl or anything, so it doesn't bother me (or my family & friends)
