Arggg Kennel Cough

So I got my latest foster pup this Saturday.  He was pretty sneezy, but I kind of figured maybe it was allergies?  Then by Sunday he had this incredibly disgusting gurgling sound going along with the sneezing.  We didn't sleep a wink last night because he literally went back and forth between sneezing and gurgling in his throat.  And to top it all off, to accompany the gurgling was a very hoarse cry/bark, as if he'd been debarked.  I started to wonder if he'd swallowed something...

So I took him in to the vet today... Vet swabbed his nose.  Needless to say, it's indeed the big KC, but it's the ugliest sounding KC I've ever been witness to.  Not looking forward to some couch time lol I typically end up in the living room on the couch any time a foster has KC, so that DH can sleep :) you know, cuz I'm nice like that.  This little baby better be glad he's so stinking adorable... :D

This is Hunter.  Loves kiddie pools.  Loves food and chewies.  Severely hand shy and people shy at first.  He's warming up really nicely, and he's finally figured out I'm an ok gal, so he's teaching me some dance moves.  This little nugget can really bounce around when he's excited :)  He flips those ears back and just prances!  I'll see if I can get a good video of his goofy self to post.

Re: Arggg Kennel Cough

  • You probably already know this, but it helped my mom's puppy to be put in the room with me whenever we showered, the steam seemed to help her breathe better.
  • Yeah, he's a sneaky baby, so he stays in the bathroom with me when I get ready :)  He's on doxy and an antihistamine/prednisone.

  • What a handsome fella! I hope he's feeling better soon - for him, and for you guys so that you can get some sleep.
