Hi - I saw some blood in my dog's poo earlier and I was wondering, is this something to just keep monitoring or should I already be worried? I was waiting for him to go again but he didn't. I figure I'll keep an eye on it but wanted to get opinions. Thanks!
Re: Blood in poo
There are several things which could cause this - some more serious than others. Was the poo itself normal? What food are you feeding? our dog had blood in his poo when he had a hard time with the food we were feeding - it cleared up when we switched to something he could digest easier. He was also treated for colitis, which includes a few other symptoms.
I would take him to the vet ASAP if it continues.
