I've been organizing my recipe box, and dealing with all the random clippings and print-outs I've amassed over the past few years. I'm only halfway done, and I've been working for almost 3 hours.
See all the fun stuff you can do when your H is OOT?
Also, I'm out of vodka. I went to make myself a pom martini tonight, and had exactly one shot left. Not that i'm looking to get wasted or anything (only adult here, responsible for 2 kids, blah blah blah), but I'd hoped to have more than one shot to last me through the week.
Sure, I *could* go to the liquor store, but I can't bring myself to do that w/ a kid hanging off of me (Elizabeth, if I went while Natalie was in school), much less with two kids in tow. I mean, I'm not exactly Miss Sophistication, but I'd like to postpone their first trip to the liquor store until they're at least 16 or so, and old enough to know they shouldn't be there.
Re: My night has been out of control y'all
H is going out of town for 5 days.
Not gonna lie, not looking forward to it. Not b/c I'll miss him but b/c I'll be alone with the world's crankiest almost 2 year old.
hold me.
If I lived near you I would run to the liquor store for you.
And then make us both pom martinis.
I'm finishing up day 3 of 6. Halfway there.
Until this evening, things were actually going pretty well. Natalie was just really tired and the whining was out of control.
Plan your meals (easy, whatever he loves to eat), and plan your days. Run.him.ragged. And plan your liquor consumption. Learn from my mistakes grasshopper.
i have always loved liquor stores, even as a kid.
my dad was in the beverage industry for most of my childhood, including being an independent wine broker, so i would accompany him on lots of trips. i always loved the labels, bottle shapes, packaging, colors...hmmm...perhaps it made more of an impression than i give it credit for...
Yes! And around these parts "easy" = eating out somewhere with a playground or patio once a day.
awesome! I've started the recipe binder project a few times but never get through the whole damn project.
I think you're fine to take her to the store! Bottles are pretty and she'll never know. There should be a booze delivery service.
I texted you an appropriate inappropriate photo to go w/ this.
that photo is hilarious. And I know I still owe you an email.
I know I could take her to the store, it is just my stupid hang up.
H actually reminded me last night that I have tequila and margarita mixer, so it appears the crisis has been averted.
I'm all about shortcuts lately. I'm ashamed to admit that I've bought those bags of Daily's margaritas lately, stuck in freezer or fridge (B/c I don't like frozen drinks as much) and weekends when dh is work and I get C down to sleep, I grab a glass, rim it w/ salt, and pour a quick margarita that involves no shaking and whatever. Taste isn't as nice, but oh well.
ANd you know - for all our supplies, we're out of the stuff we'd like to drink most. I don't think we have any vodka in there or tequila. I do have plenty of other things, but not those 2 key ingredients. Nor rum. Dh didn't even bring his fave rum back from Oz. Weird. (can't get it here)
oh and the other day we were out of beer/wine and having company. Dh joked that we should take C down to the liquor store down the road and that he thought that might be a little odd.
I was like "what are you talking about?" We took her in the first week or 2 we had her b/c I wanted guiness and we didn't have any! So, she made her first liquor trip early!
I'm very surprised we don't have a beer bottle pic yet. Or wine. She fights for our wine glasses and does anything to reach beer. dh thinks she's got a lot of aussie in her.
