I feel like there are SO many updates I want to ask MLpeeps about. (wbl? ltd? lll?)

I have a bunch others, but I keep forgetting who I meant to ask what.

wbl - what's up w/ work for you?  Are you free of the job that was sucking your soul?  Did I see something about that? what happened?

ltd - same - sounded like your job was crap after crap for the past few months?  And now you're off? How's it going?

lll - did I see you got a new job too?  how's that going?

i'll think of many others I need to ask later.   Apparently I'm currently nosy about internet friends' workplaces.

  • dude, I think EVERYONE is on my list of ppl I wanted to say hi to.

I just can't remember all my specific questions/comments.

Floyd - I'm very sorry about Milo. :(   It's ok to be sad still. Sorry to remind you, but it sounds like it's in your mind a lot anyway right now.   I'll be an absolute mess when anything happens to our baby.

  • Thanks for asking :) We are doing well. I'm expecting (squeee!!!), I started a new job at the old company last month. I'm now working for our museum group and love love love it. Thing have been busy in the LLL household, we just bought a house and are in the middle of renovations and hope to move in by the end of the month.

    How are you?

    hi.
  • aww, thanks!  She cracks me up all the time. She looks like her legs are just chopped off in that photo, doesn't she?  Like she should be taller.

Motherhood is pretty neat.  It's fun watching her learn and she's got a fun little personality. I have my moments, and sometimes I get a little down about how much my life has changed.  Dh's has changed too, but our previous lifestyle isn't conducive to one of us being able to work w/ daycare.  (can't really put her in daycare or babysitting for 22 hr days, or from 5pm-4am, which is when work is the busiest).  We're working out ways for me to do some work and get out of the house w/ a purpose (besides raising kid, which is important, but I need some adult purpose too, I think). It's just a tough balance b/c one of us needs to take the lead role to keep work running and it's harder to jump back and forth into it than to have one primary who is there most of the time.

Karma - are you healing?  How have you been?

    VERY VERY COOL!

    How far along are you?

That's AWESOME that you have a cool new position in the company!  I thought they were insane to lose you, so I'm glad they reclaimed you.  I bet there were a lot of people working on getting you back in!

Wow, busy w/ renovations.  You've got a lot of excitement going on!

Me - doing well.  Our kid is insanely active.  CONSTANTLY in motion. Crawling, stands on her own, walks around all the furniture and in general keeps me really really busy.  She plays on her own for a bit, but I usually reserve that for time when I need to pump or grab food for myself, so I'm barely online.  I'm slacking today and hanging out on the nest more than I really have time to do.   I do read a lot of updates, but usually in 15 min increments and don't get much time to respond.

  • thanks sprky!  What's new w/ you?

I feel like there was something i wanted to ask you, but I don't remember that either.

We have FINALLY gotten kid to bed at a non jet lag time.  It's still a fight, but she's going down at 8pm vs the midnight thing we had going for a week or 2.  That was painful b/c we were beat. I think that's helping my mood. 2 weeks of weird time zone land was kind of rough. She's always been a night owl, but it was pretty ridiculous.

Maybe we've just gotten over ours too - it's been about 15 days and they generally say 1 day per hour difference. I've never held w/ that and thought we recovered faster but it's taken that whole time w/ a kid adjusting as well.

I'm cringing at the thought of doing this every freakign year though.  We're talking about going back this winter.  While I LOVE going and it seems fair to family there, the jet lag on the way over is like nothing, it's just the easier direction and over there, we have tons of help when we get there.  The way back is the b!tch and we have to do this end by ourselves.

    Well!

I can't remember the last time you were here, so here is the last seven months in a nutshell:

    1. Fiance almost drowned in his own car.
    2. Mom diagnosed w/pancreatic cancer
    3. I got engaged!
    4. Mom died.
    5. I finished all of my grad school courses
    6. I finally finished my thesis.
    7. I'm going to be an aunt again!
    8. My thesis got approved, and I NEVER HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL AGAIN.
    9. My dearest friend came to visit this week; and
    10. I tried on wedding dresses :-)

On the whole, finally trending upwards :-)

Your sig pic is beyond adorable!  I am so thrilled to see you doing so well.

The fiance is doing well!  He's taking his final for the semester, which he could write "EFF THIS NOISE" in crayon on it and still get an A, but he still stayed up half the night studying for it...sigh.  He's annoyed he is not allowed to drive right now, but there are worse things :-)
