Mother's Day

We usually send flowers since our moms live too far away for us to visit on the actual holiday.  I'm so over the flowers, such a rip-off.  Since I haven't had a chance to get either of them a gift (or a card) I sent them those Shari's Berries chocolate dipped strawberries.  I used that site one other time for a gift and I heard the berries were huge (TWSS) and yummy, so I figured "eh" may as well.

The site is having a special that if you spend $39, you'll receive 20% off your order.  I also set the delivery to take place on Thurs/Fri to avoid the addtional weekend/holiday delivery charge.

Re: Mother's Day

  • That's a really good idea! I have to mail my Mom's gift this afternoon and we bought my MIL something from Amazon and had it shipped straight to her house.

  • Yes I do believe I will copy your idea.

    Thank you.

  • Maybe I'll eventually get them one day but so far I'm just on their email list (because I used ProFlowers like, 6 times last year) and while I'm not trying to say it's not a good deal - they always have marked down prices -- just like Art Van, lol but that's good to hear they're huge Wink

  • J got me some of those berries for our anniversary.  We LOVED them and decided sending the berries was just so easy, we're pretty much planning to send them for every occasion.  We're having them delivered on Thursday just so his mom can enjoy them all weekend long.

Oh, yeah.  I'm sure I paid more than maybe I had to, but it was a great alternative since I was in a pinch.  I sent 3 different gifts (one to each mom and another to S's grandmom), including shipping it was $91 (I searched high and low for a free shipping code, but ended up having to pay for standard).  So $91 divided by 3 is about $30 per gift which is way better than what I would have spent on flowers and probably in the range of what I would spend if I actually went out to the mall or whereever to find each of them a gift.  Smile

  • That is awesome. I just went out and bought grandmother, mom, and bio mom cards. That's all I can afford right now and they are all out of state.

  • And, AND!  They have sugar-free chocolate covered strawberries which is perfect since my mom is diabetic.

  • The strawberries are a great idea. I got some as a birthday gift a couple years ago and they were really good.

I have to pick up a gift for my MIL after work today. My mom just asked for an Outback gift card. She's easy lol.
