What happened to my potato?
I made some freezer meals before DD was born, one of them being beef roast with veggies. I stuck the roast and veggies in a freezer bag and immediately stuck it in the deep freeze.
I pulled it out to thaw and stuck in the crockpot and my potatoes and black/brown. What happened to them? Are they still safe to eat?

They didn't cook, just went to the freezer.
No sauce.
Oh, okay. Potatoes turn brown when they're cut. They oxidize. Even if they were in a bag, there must have been enough air in there for the potatoes cut surfaces to get brown.
I'm not sure if they're okay to eat. I think so, but you might want to google around a bit and see what the "experts" say. Or just buy a new potato.

Thanks so much. I did some googling. They seem safe to eat but, since they look so gross - I will just serve around them and cook a fresh batch.
Lesson learned!
