I have never heard of anyone getting tickets for this, so pardon my ignorance.

Sounds cool. I always wanted to go to one of those, but I have nothing remotely interesting anymore to be appraised.
I think my favorite AR clip was one about a painting someone brought in of the Titanic - the appraiser said the painting was really awful, but what impressed him was on the back of the painting was an original Titanic menu glued to the frame. It was the dinner menu of the night they sank. I don't remember how much it went for.
