40 cloves of garlic chicken. I used the 365 days of slow cooker blog's version.
Quite delicious, garlic didn't overwhelm, mellowed nicely. I stuck the chicken under the broiler before we ate so it crisped up. And I took some of the juices from the chicken plus some of the garlic mashed up and reduced it to a sauce to go w/ potatoes and the dish.
I'm not oozing garlic smell today either.
Cook's Illustrated has a version where they say they improved it a ton, but it had a lot more steps than I'm willing to do at this point in time, but I bet theirs is extra tasty. I'm just all about chucking a bunch of stuff in the crock pot and letting it cook lately. Otherwise I suck at making dinner b/c it coincides w/ too many other things going on.
I also ran to the grocery store yesterday and cheated. I love making chicken tikka masala, usually from scratch. I bought a jar simmer sauce so I can eat it soon and do zero work for it. I'm sure I'll cook for real again someday, right?
Re: a crock pot recipe that was pretty decent -
Oh good, I picked a butter chicken one too.
Probably should have gotten a korma one or something too, but I figured use those first and then see what I wanted.
