So $50 for photos of my kid is reasonable/cheap, right?

Our friends' neighbor's daughter (she's 21-22ish) takes pictures of their kid all the time, and she does a good job for an amateur. We're going to go out to a nice spot on Saturday, meet her and she's going to take a bunch of pics of the kids. We get the hi-res digital images and can do whatever we want with them. I think we're going to give her $50 for doing this. Sounds ok, right?

    very reasonable, worth it alone to not have to schlep your kids to a studio

    It depends on her product. That might be really reasonable, or it might be highway robbery.

    I don't think she's a "good photographer" - she is 100% a hobbyist, but I've seen some of her pics and they are nice. I'm glad to help her get started/practice and appreciate having better than target pictures of my kid, lol.

    Sounds reasonable to me, as long as you've seen her work and are fine with the quality. That's what I've been charging while portfolio building.
