Our kid is appropriately named. LOVES to dance to music. Video in post(limited time link)
This video is just a sample of how much she dances. Most music playing makes her dance, standing or sitting. Dh gave her his phone this AM w/ Metallica & AC/DC etc on Pandora and she was rocking out to that.
I took her to about 15 concerts when i was pregnant, and we both love music, so I'm super thrilled. (Cecilia is the patron saint of music)
I love when she's standing and dances b/c she does a little but dip/bounce thing that is just beyond adorable. She drops it like it's hot.

Again, that is NOT me bouncing her at all - it's ALL her. That clip just started playing when I posted that, and she just stood up and peeked over the side of the couch, grinning at me and bouncing. lol.

lol I love it. How are you doing?? I feel like it has been an age since I have caught up with you.
C now likes to conduct the music and will ask for her baton.
doing well! It has been ages! I've lurked a bit but not even that much as things have been so busy. How are you? How's life w/ 2? You holding up ok? I think I need some pics!
THat's too cute that C conducts and asks for her baton. Absolutely adorable!
Soon to celebrate the day we met, even if the day before marks when we said goodbye.
lol thanks.
Marle, too funny.
She's loved music since the very beginning. It's the only way she wouldn't cry in the car for the first 2 months- we'd have to blast music.
SHe sings along to Baby Love and Barbara Ann. (she actually comes close to saying Barbara Ann w/ her Ba- Ba-Bas. and Baby Love she has the tones but not quite the words).
Just about any music comes on and she bounces away. I love it, it's so cute.
(Oh, and before she was born, she also was present at a Jay Z and Trina afterparty, an R Kelly party (they were there) and Techno fest that pumps so loud that lightbulbs fall out of our ceiling so we unscrew them the day before. Also tons of motown shows and much much more. We have music in our every day life so she heard a lot before she was born!)
Doo Wop music seems to be the easiest for her to bounce to, but she loves all different kinds of music.
Back when she was 4 months old, I was at work w/ her around Christmas. THe staff was cracking up b/c she started bouncing around and grinning when "I like Big Butts" came on. I was kind of embarrassed to admit that's one I sing to her a lot and she loves it. When she was a week or 2 old, Prince's "Seven" was the one I'd sing the most to calm her (since it says "don't cry" in the lyrics) and she'd bop her head half way through the song at the same point each time I'd sing it.
1) I *love* the name Cecilia. I wanted to name our baby that but DH didn't like it as much.
2) So cute! I wish we could get the girls together. I think they'd have a blast (while we had some wine and cheese).
Excellent idea!
Wish it would work, but you're far, aren't you? Are you CA or NYC? Or neither? For some reason, I thought you were NYC area but then maybe moved to CA? Or I'm on crack.
My parents had thought about naming me Cecilia but didn't. I always loved the name. Then when I started dating dh, I met the grandma who was like a 2nd mom to him and learned it was her middle name. She passed away the other year, the year we had 3 grandparents die w/in 3 months. I also knew it was the patron saint of music growing up (I played piano concerts @ St Cecilia's hall). We still were a little undecided until birth day, but pretty much knew it was her name. Middle name Catherine mainly b/c there are so many strong Catherines in history. Partially b/c it was in the running and after she was born, we learned dh's great grandma shared a bday w/ her and her name was a form of Catherine. She's got 2 big names to grow into!
