Was it close to DH/your family?

  • In my hometown and at the church I grew up attending.

  • Nashville, TN at an old Victorian b&b no where near where either of us grew up. Military and all that.

  • St. Petersburg, FL.

No, it wasn't even close to where we lived at the time (South Florida). We wanted neutral territory and I think the closest person still had to travel an hour to get there. With the exception of our friends who lived in Florida and drove, everyone else had to fly.

  • At a hotel about 5 minutes from where I was living at the time.  Now it's about 20 minutes away.  I don't really leave the area very often.

We live half way between our families, and we got married int he town that we currently live in. About an hour and a half away from both sides of our families.

  • My hometown, 100 miles away from here. My reasoning was that my family was going to have to travel for everything else, his family could travel for the wedding.

From the great mind of Violet_McPurpleson:
  • In my cousin's church in my hometown.  If I were doing it all over again, I would get married on the beach and have a super small ceremony.  I bowed to maternal pressure.

  • We rented an old farmhouse on Cape Cod for a week, threw the wedding there, and stayed there for a week with family and the wedding party.

At the time, we lived in Mass, as did our friends and H's family. My parents and brother are in NJ and I didn't have any other family members at the wedding, so it didn't matter where it was held.

  • Los Angeles.

Most of our relatives live within an hour of the site.

  • The first time, it was in my ex father in law's church (my husband did not attend, and ex FIL only went occasionally) not too far from where we lived at the time.

This time around it is not in a church but one of our favorite spots, probably 35-minute drive for both families.

Always be yourself. Unless you suck.
  • at the church literally behind our house

  • It was far from my family, but close to his and in the same village where we lived.

  • Red Rock Canyon just outside of Vegas.  Not close to them at all, although our parents and siblings came for the ceremony.
  • City Hall.

    We eloped.

  • In nj. Both of our families were close. Then I picked up and moved away a week later:)

  • Luckily H's parents and my parents live 45 minutes from each other, so we had it by my mom's house.  Pretty much everyone else we invited had to travel, though.

In a church not 2 minutes from where we live/lived. Both of our families live here in town, except H's brothers, who live in Tampa.
  • We got married at the church my husband and I attended. Our reception was at a private club of which we are members.

It was closer to his family.

At a park in the town we live in. An hour from DH's family, and an hour and a half from the majority of my family.
    I like privacy. A lot.
  • Mexico, so no.

We're in TX, family is in CT, VA, NY and NH, so there wasn't a location that was not far for some of the family.

  • we got married in the catholic church in our city

My hometown, where we live. My family is all close, and all of H's guests had to fly in. We had someone from each corner of the States.

  • About 2.5 hours from where we live now, 4.5 hours from where we lived at the time of the wedding.

My family was mostly within 2.5 hours of the inn, H's family were about an hour away.

We figured everyone was going to have to travel one way or another so we went with the place we liked best. It worked out. Of 180 invites, 120 attended.

  • We got married in the church I attended in the town where we lived.  It was about a three hour drive for my family and a four hour drive for his.
