Afternoon randoms...add yours

My baby was up almost every hour last night. I'm freaking exhausted.

My dad is having open heart surgery tomorrow. I'm starting to get very anxious and nervous for this. I am 6.5 hours away from him too and I don't like it.

My H is leaving Wednesday night-Monday for his brother's graduation in the DC area. First time having both kids overnight by myself. I'm debating going to see my mom/dad over the weekend but I'd have to move some things around to do it and I'm not sure if its worth the effort or not. Plus I'd have to drive 6.5 hours by myself with a 3 year old and a 3 month old.

  • My best friend's little brother who had his right leg amputated at the knee a couple months ago is doing amazingly well.  He has the best attitude and is truly inspirational.  When I feel down about something I look at my in tact right leg and then realize it could be so much worse!

  • S and I have been sick for two days and are bored out of our mind.

On Saturday, S brought us a lovely bundle of beautiful leaves that we quickly recognized as poison ivy. H got it a year ago and has done a really good job making sure it wasn't growing wild in the yard but apparently the neighbors have a major outbreak and it' creeped through our fence. H gave S a thorough and quite violent bath and S didn't get it, thank god but now H has it and it's moved to his face. It's horrific, he woke up with one eye swollen shut today. I feel so bad for him. Him and his family are highly allergic. This week can suck a bag of d!cks.

  • Earlier today I went to Caroline's school to volunteer in her kindergarten class  so that her teacher could have an extra-long lunch.(Teacher Appreciation Week) So, it was just me and 19 kindergarteners. I had to lead them from lunch to the classroom and then keep them busy doing a drawing project for 10 minutes. Easy enough, right?

    OMG.

Did you see the movie "Kindergarten Cop"? It was pretty much just like that. Kids running all over, 19 kids asking me a question at one time, madness, I tell ya. They knew I had no clue what I was doing. It's like they could sense my fear. Then the teacher came back and magically settled them in less than 10 seconds. It was awesome to see. I am in awe of all elementary school teachers.

  • I sampled Mariah Carey's perfume, lollipop bling or some sh*t like that, I honestly don't know wtf I was thinking when I did this, I now smell like a 12 yr old girl

I used the phrase "bag of d!cks" the other day and H literally fell down on the floor from laughing so hard. apparently, that is not something he has ever heard before.

  • Layla just let go of the couch and stood by herself for about 45 seconds. Yay. She didn't take any steps though but she got one of those push toys that helps you walk and she has been using it here and there.

    I really need some chocolate.

Me too.  My sister teaches third grade in a pretty rough neighborhood.  She gets kids in her class who have seen way more than a 3rd grader should have seen.  One kid watched his uncle get murdered!!!!!!!  She said half of the job is emotional support for the kids because some of them come from such sad stories.  :-(

    My sister is a saint.

  • I just want to know who voted for me and why.
  • I am still bored at work because they still have not renewed my sign-in ID - wish they would hurry up.

I am trying to decide whether or not to go to the beach this weekend.

One of our puppies is in heat, and she is really clingy - it will be a relief when this is over, so we can get her and her sister spayed.

I want DH to be home again, but I am really happy he is working.

  • My feelings get a little hurt when there is a poll about ML regulars because I'm  never on the list and I've been a Knottie/Nestie regular longer than all you wenches.
  • I really hate when pinterest pins don't link to the specific picture or post, but the person's entire blog.  I don't want to scroll through an entire blog, with no idea of when that post was originally made just to find the picture I liked.  Why do people screw this up all the time?

Also, I am awaiting the arrival of my graduation gift sunglasses that will be here today.  I am so excited that I can't do much else.  I have been warned that if I ever lose these we are getting a divorce.  So it is really a win/win for me.  I told him that and he didn't think it was funny.  LOL

  • I really dont want to go to my IL's house on Mother's Day.  I know they will comment on me needing a hair cut, mani & pedi, and what I'm wearing.  Just once I wish I had the nerve to tell her that I would be happy to accept a gift card for all of the above.

I'm also guessing that my MIL will remind me that if I eat food I will gain weight. She frowns upon me not being within range on the BMI chart.

  • AW - I just got a $500 bonus at work for working my butt off on an important project last week. I'm beaming. Bonuses for support people don't happen around here often so it's a huge deal to me when I do get one. And I can't say anything to my co-worker friends because that is unprofessional and rude. And when I texted H to tell him all he said was "Ok."

I just wanted to share my excitement. It feels good to be appreciated.

This is flameful:  I really LOVE JLo Miami Glow.  I horde it and save it for special occasions or when I'm in a fantastic mood.  I mean, I like it more than my Marc Jacobs Daisy.

I just cleaned my house in a flurry like I shot up meth or something.  Do you even shoot meth?  Oh well.

DD's birthday is Saturday.  2!  JFC she was just born.

    Shot first, questions later.
  • I'm seriously considering selling my car and riding the bus to work. H and I can carpool home once he starts work in June.

  • I am going back-and-forth regarding getting my mother a Mother's Day gift. She is a terrible person. But then I fear if I don't get her one, that makes me a terrible person, too.

I think my co-worker at work is a pleasant person, but she's terrible at her job. Terrible. And in her desperation to be good at her job, she has started claiming my work at her own. Now I password protect all my documents. I hate that it's come to that, but I am glad Office added that feature.

Batarang's post-surgery care instructions instruct no bathing or swimming for 2 weeks. She's going to be so disappointed to miss that pool party.

  • Things that are annoying me (LHC isn't one of them):

    1) I have the corner house, so people always putting their real estate signs in my yard, so it looks like my house is perpetually for sale.

    2) Why do I have to buy the birthday/anniversary gifts for my husbands family?  It is your family, you buy the gifts.

    3) It rains everyfuckingday.

  • I have a chair full of laundry to fold/put away.  All little people clothes.  I've been picking out outfits for both of my children for like a week out of the chair.

We really need to get off our asses and get the guest room remodeled for Edith's big girl room.  I don't know why we didn't do it before Freddie came home.  We are so fcuking dumb and lazy sometimes.

I sat Edith in front of the tv while Freddie is sleeping.  I let him sleep most of the evening and he didn't want to go back to sleep when he woke up at 2:30.  I was up from 2:30 till about 5:00, at which time, H woke up and offered to take over.  I think shiit's gonna change around here.  I'm keeping this baby up all evening, y'all.

  • I'm secretly hoping that H has something extra nice planned for me for Mother's day, after his little solo vacation to florida that has left me alone w/ the girls for 6 days.  And if he doesn't I'm going to be a little pist.

I'm procrastinating about booking a mover because I just don't want to move.  I've narrowed it down to one of 2 companies, and I just can't pull the trigger.  :

Natalie's dance recital was at a Church of Jesus Christ of LDS church, in their gym.  The prep room for the girls was a sunday school room, and there was a picture of Jesus, in a white robe, on the wall.  One of the little girls said "look mommy!  That silly man is wearing a white dress!"  Her mother nearly died of embarrassment, and I almost died laughing.

  • I've been traveling soo much for work lately that my house is gross, soo gross. DH who is at home with LO on T/Th is not doing crap. We had a "come to jesus" talk two days ago. I know he has a slipped disc and all and can barely move, but it has been 4 months that I have been picking up all the slack around the house. Thankfully he is starting PT on Thursday and will feel better soon.

I feel like a bad wife for not being patient when DH is in pain but I'm tired. Soo tired of doing it all.

  • I have that barfy feeling like I've had too much dairy, but I haven't really had ANY dairy today.  Save some cupcake frosting.

Say what? I hope you aren't homeschooling your children. Your reading comp scares thechit out of me.

Edit: No really. You tried to take me to task on the other post. I asked for clarification (because you are wrong) and you "didn't want to argue".

It seems that you must want to.

Show me where I defended McNasty today? C'mon. Get "creative".
