Dark spots

After having two babies, I have pretty bad dark spots on my face.  I have been researching the various lighteners and was wondering if anyone had any they loved.  I was thinking of trying out the Garnier one since I am sure it is much cheaper than the others, but I don't want to waste the money if it won't even work.

TIA!!

Re: Dark spots

  • I had a prescription for Hydroquinone skin bleach 4%.

It's amazing.  I had heavy scarring from acne and chicken pox. Everywhere I used the cream it faded the scars. The lighter ones are pretty much invisible. The darker ones faded so much they are only noticeable close up and probably just to me.

    Insurance paid after the copay.

  • I was using the Garnier version for a while.  But then it just felt like my spots had hit a wall and weren't going to lighten any more.

So after the Garnier, I've been using Cosmedix Lightning after my aesthetician recommended it after a facial.  I've noticed some improvement in the lightening of some dark acne scars.

    Might be worth checking out.

  • Thanks ladies!!

I have a hydroquinone as a prescription but I am kind of scared to use it on my face.  I've only used it on my hands.

I have had success with Origins brightener skin pads and the vitamin serum that corrects hyperpigmentation, but it took several months.

  • For "pretty bad" dark spots, you probably want to visit a dermatologist and get something prescription strength.  If you want to try something else first, the Obagi skincare line is supposed to be fantastic at lightening and evening out the skin.
  • Also, simple Vitamin E cream can help a lot. It's just a dollar or two at Walgreen's. It takes awhile to notice a change, though.

  • Thanks again! They are right at the top of the cheekbones under me eyes. My H said he never noticed them until I pointed it out, so maybe it's not as bad as I thought. I still want to try something.  I am worried about using something while I am nursing, though. Off to research!

Wow, it didn't do SQUAT for me. The only effective thing was the doctor lasering them off.

  • hey sweetheart !! this is exactly the same case that i've experienced but the root cause was different. I used inviCible scars for my spots ...it is relatively very effective in scars and spots.  It has many benefits but is devoid of any side effects. It?s a great product... my spots vanished in just few weeks... glad to have this product. It?s worth paying for it. It is a hypoallergenic acne scar treatment. Since it does not contain common skin irritants like preservatives and fragrances, it is far less likely to cause a break-out than most other acne scar care products do. I?m really very much satisfied by it as it has really shown drastic effects in such sort span of time. Consult the website for more details so that you may have an idea of what scar type you have and how to use it.... Contact them, they'll guide you
