Is this too girly for boys room?

I'm looking for a trundle for DS's big boy room and found this one on CL for a great price.  We plan on painting it blue(baseball themed room), be honest, does it look too girly?

Re: Is this too girly for boys room?

  • Mother of a boy here ---- yes, I think it does. If the top were square I'd like it more.
  • I think if you cut the balls off (ouch) and painted it blue it would look good for a boy's room.

AS long as you are painting it blue (a medium to dark blue), I think it will be fine. IMO, all white furniture is feminine. I don't really have an issue with the round knobs, but f you are doing a baseball theme, maybe you can pint them like baseballs if you're worried?

  • Not too girly at all, IMO, even in white. (Also mom of a boy.)
  • no. it looks gender-neutral to me.

paint the balls like baseballs or basketballs or something if you're worried.

  • Love, love LOVE the ideas about painting the balls like baseballs!  I'm anxiously waiting to hear back from the seller, fingers crossed I'm the big winner!!!

Not at all (also a mother of a boy).  But I wouldn't paint it.  I like it being white.  It will be more versatile and you can keep it even if you decide to change the room later.

This exactly. I have two boys and would not even think twice about it. I am not even sure why people think it's girly...

  • I think it's very gender neutral.
  • Boo,  I'm still waiting (impatiently) to hear back from the seller - a major drawback of CL when you're as impatient as I am.

  • I don't think so. Maybe a little for an older/teen boy, but for a little boy? No problem. And I think it would great painted navy blue!

Oh, I know!  Then once they sell it, they leave the listing up and don't reply to your email. It is really annoying!

  • Double boo, someone else must've got it since the ad is down and I never got a reply :-(  Guess it wasn't meant to be.

    Thanks for your opinions!

  • I don't think it has feminine qualities at all. I think if you did a navy blue it would look great in a baseball themed room.
  • I think if you paint it, it would be fine.
