What are you getting your Mom for
Mother's Day? I need unique ideas other than flowers and chocolates. I see things all throughout the year that she'd like and now I can't think of anything!
Re: What are you getting your Mom for
We don't give anything on my side except cards. But, for MIL I am getting her a drum cheese grater. I'm more a fan of practical gifts and her standard cheese grater broke and got tossed a few years back. Not exciting, I know, but useful.
I am giving my mom the pleasure of my company, and that of my oldest daughter. We are flying in on Friday afternoon, just for the weekend. My mom is beyond thrilled, and doesn't want or need anything else, but we will probably stock her freezer with some of her favorite restaurant soups or do her grocery shopping before we leave.
ETA: Since I will be spending Mother's Day with a bunch of moms (my sister, sil, and my daughter, along with my mom), I bought bracelets for everyone. They are each different and fit the style of the giftee. We don't usually give each other gifts for Mother's Day, but I thought since all of the moms would be together for the first time in many years, it would be fun.
For MIL: decor flag and hibiscus
A Coach wallet and a card.
MIL: jewelry (not nice jewelry, everyday fun jewelry, KWIM?)
My mom: eyeglasses. She's retired on a fixed income, so I get her new glasses every other year. We have fun picking out new frames for her together.
My Pinterest
The Googlesites Paint Bio
Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I'm taking my mom out to brunch when she comes to visit in a couple of weeks and sending her a mush-filled card. For MIL, we are getting her an Amazon gift card so she can buy herself a book for the Kindle we bought her for Christmas and a card that will probably just say "love you!" (I let my husband write the sentiments for his mom).
I need to figure out what I am going to bring to brunch for my fill-in-mom (my aunt) and my sister (it's her first mother's day).
ETA: I just realized that I am not help at all. But, like a pp said, I like useful gifts.
Go Phils!!
A card and a package of local dried fruit for my mom.
A cute mug that says mom (cuter than it sounds) and a card for MIL. Then we brace for impact to see how our boundary setting works out.
Both moms are getting a set of Envirosax bags that were on Groupon recently. My mom is also getting a bracelet, MIL is also getting a Pandora charm for DS2's birthday.
I buy gifts for everyone throughout the year when I see something I think they would like. I have a special Rubbermaid container in our storage room that the gifts are kept in. When Christmas or birthdays roll around, half the time I have gifts already purchased and it avoids a huge hit to the budget in December for the holidays.

MIL #1 is getting a poodle USB hub (she'll love it!) and going out to eat. MIL #2 (DH's stepM) just moved so probably something practical for a new home - HomeGoods gift card or something and likely out to eat too.
For my mom I haven't decided yet - typically do spa gift certificates - pedicure or something. She's been getting a lot of greens from the CSA so maybe some of those Green bags that keeps food fresh in the fridge. She's been eyeing a huge Kitchenaid food processor but I'm holding off on that till her Nov birthday - if she's still looking for one then.
