Cruising into D&R....We're under contract!!

We got an offer on our house yesterday, countered yesterday, and it was accepted today.  We are still losing a crap ton of money....over 20k.  But, at least we will be able to put this behind us. 

It has been worth it.  The move was the right thing, I love my job, we have a good landlord here.  But, hot damn, the last 5 months have been stressful.  

Keep your fingers crossed the inspection goes well and doesn't turn anything major up.  In our counter we said we weren't going to fix anything, but they still have the right to walk away if there was a big issue. The appraisal should be okay because it is in line with the price houses are selling in our area. 

We'll close on June 1 if all is well!

Wow, that's a lot of money.  DH and I just can't bring ourselves to do it.  GL, really hope this works out for you!!  Glad to hear your job's been worth the move.

Yeah, it sucks.  Don't get me wrong.  But, I had no job before and if we stayed, I the way things are looking back there...I don't think I would have.  This job puts us in a much better place.  And, now we aren't tied to a house, so we can move again when my contract is up for H (he'll be wrapping up his PhD then).

Congrats and hopefully all goes well through closing.  We had to bring over $20k to the table to sell our house (after putting over $40k into it between down payment and improvements) and it was the best decision we ever made.  We moved for my job to a city we really wanted to be and we are so much happier now.  The relief of not having the house hanging over our head was well worth it.
