Well I had my root canal today...

It didn't go well, the Dr was only ever able to do half the procedure because the tooth was really bad once they opened it up. Soo now I have tooth packed with cotton and all open under it. I am soooo sore and in alot of pain, and taking Vicodin so I am FLYING. Next step is to see a specialist to see if this tooth can even be saved Crying

oh, and it's finals week and I have a TON to do and study!!!! great timing!!!!

Anniversary

  • Sad

Get lots of sleep! And relax - if you can - while you study!

Hopefully you get to see the specialist soon! Mouth work can be a big PITA!

  • I had a failed root canal in 2006 and was prescribed two courses of antibiotic back to back for an infection that developed and got c.difficile and was sick for months and had to take massive amounts of probiotics to recover.  Also, I went to a peridontist, the tooth was pulled and there was a big hole in it, I had reabsorption (idiopathic).  I got a dental implant and a crown and have had no issues since.

If you get prescribed antibiotics at some point just be careful and maybe run it by your primary doc and google.

I am very sorry you're going through this.  Dental crap sucks, cause it's in your head.

In regards to the dental implant.

I have three - and they cause no problems what so ever. If this is a possibility for the OP I'd go for it! People can't even tell I have them (they're right in front, so you can see the "fake" teeth when I smile).

  • Left Hug Dental work really sucks, sorry.  Try to focus on your studies and take your focus off the tooth.
