Anyone else sweat a LOT while working out?
I feel like I sweat a lot when I work out, way more than the average person. I'll go out for a run and sweat will literally be dripping off of me after 30 minutes. When I take a class at the gym, sometimes I will literally be the only person in the room breaking a sweat, while everyone else seems cool and collected. I don't necessarily think I'm always working harder than everyone else, but I think my body gets overheated easily. I don't think this is a "problem," but it is annoying sometimes, especially when I'm sweating more than the men! Anyone else in this boat?
Re: Anyone else sweat a LOT while working out?
Oh I'm right there with you! And I'm planning to write a blog post about it later this week. I recently hit a big milestone in my gym and posted a picture of the accomplishment on Facebook and my closest friend commented about how sweaty I was. Not how proud she was of me for making this breakthrough. Just how sweaty my armpits were.
I'm sorry, but when it's 80 degrees outside, there's no air conditioning in the garage, and I'm pumping 90 lbs over my head, sweat is going to happen.
It's good for your skin anyhow.
No, I glisten
But seriously, I am a big, sweaty mess. And I'm a group fitness instructor so I think it's actually motivating for the class to see me making sweat puddles on the floor.
Yup - I'm in the same boat. Heck I sweat when I'm cold! And DH doesn't sweat at all. I'm all sweaty, hair is soaking wet and my cheeks get beet red.
Next week, I'm doing a Zumbathon with some friends who are talking about going out after. Um, sorry the only place I go after a workout is the shower!

yeah. sometimes I get embarrassed when I'm on the TM sweating like a man, easily the sweatiest person within eyesight.
I've heard that sweating early and often is a physiological adaptation. as you get more 'fit' your body starts sweating more and sooner because it's more efficient at keeping your core cool. this is just what I remember from undergrad physiology class.

I sweat an ungodly mess, even during yoga. My body runs hot, so when I exercise it ain't pretty.
And YES! to the fitness instructor who said she thinks its motivating to her students. My favorite instructors all sweat. It makes me feel good because they are way more fit than I am so, if they are sweating buckets and I'm keeping up, then I'm doing alright!
This is exactly why all of my workout pants/capris/shorts are black.

I sweat during yoga, too. And it's not even "hot yoga." I'm a mess!
I sweat a lot, and I'm pale, so my face turns BRIGHT red the second it gets above 80 out, so you know... any exercise that raises my temp automatically puts me in lobster mode. In high school I worked at a grocery store where the baggers carry people's bags to the car... I swear they promoted me to cashier just so the customers would stop asking if I was ok.
But yeah, on topic, I sweat like rainfall.
Yes I sweat a LOT, even though I'm in a dry climate. When I go out of town and run it's much worse. I've also heard that it's a good thing. Sweating is how your body cools off (when the blood flows under the wet skin it cools, and then the cooler blood travels throughout your body to cool it down). I've heard that your body gets more efficient at this if you exercise a lot, so you start sweating quickly and you sweat more.
I sweat tremendously! And my face gets BEET red. Lovely
But like one member said above, I think it makes my skin look better!
Same for me. I hate when it gets into my contacts! I train at a fitness studio and there is only one other lady that sweats a lot so we like to hang out together. Haha!
