I have questions about C25K!

Did you finish it in the number of weeks allotted? Did you feel like it was pretty easy to work your way up?  You ran outside, right? Not with a treadmill? Did you download the podcasts? 

There is a 5k on July 8th that I am thinking about running and I could definitely skip week 1 of the program which would give me 8 weeks - do you think that I can do it?

  • Did you finish it in the number of weeks allotted? I did finish it in the allotted weeks and have been repeating the final week for 3 weeks now. Smile And working on my time (which I have shaved a minute and half off of since the beginning of week 9). 

     Did you feel like it was pretty easy to work your way up? I did feel like it was a great way to work up to it. I can honestly say I have never been a runner, in any way shape or form, and now I can run (jog) the full three miles now, and I can pretty much credit this program.

     You ran outside, right? Not with a treadmill? I did the first two or three on the treadmill, then movd outside, it was the best decsion ever.Did you download the podcasts? I did the first time I did this (I started and failede with it the first time), but I didn't this time, and I didn't have any problems. I just kept track of the time with a stop watch.

    There is a 5k on July 8th that I am thinking about running and I could definitely skip week 1 of the program which would give me 8 weeks - do you think that I can do it? I definitely think you can do it, especially if you are enough of a runner that you can skip week one. I say doo iitttt!! The best motivation (for me) was knowing that I had signed up for a race, and I made it my goal to run the entire thing. I think I am well on my way to be there. Smile

    My husband was a soccer player so for him, 3 miles is like, a warm-up. Sometimes I feel kind of out of shape next to him!

    I think I'll download the podcasts and I'll let you know how it goes, either here or on MFP.

    It's been so nice in the mornings, so I bet I can get my ass up and run! Haha.

  • I hear that about the soccer player husband, mine is as well (though taking a break while he heals from ACL surgery). Funny enough, I had him doing it for me before he got hurt, and I know I was slowing him down, however the next day he would be far whinier about his legs hurting. Smile

  • The one time we went running together I got so discouraged by how fast/good he was and how bad I was that I went home in a really bad funk. Now we run/jog separately.

    I started by going by minutes, and then switched over to distance at about week 5.
