Allergies! Seriously! Shoot me!

What the fuuuuuuuuudge man!?  I have been dealing with stupid allergy symptoms for WEEKS now.  We had a crazy early spring and then so much rain that everything is like BLOOM! BLOOM! POLLEN! POLLEN!!!!  WAAAAAHHHHH!

I've been getting allergy shots for years now and either they stopped working (omg, please no) OR things are just that awful this year.  I've had about enough of it!

I have a pollen count app and it has said "HIGH" for weeks now.  I don't think it's dipped below 10 on a scale of 1-12.  GREAT.  FABULOUS.  WONDERFUL.

*achooooooooooooooooooooooo! sniffle sniffle*

  • it's really bad here in NE PA too, freaking horrible actually, can your allergist prescribe something else for the symptoms?

  • Supposedly taking an antioxidant supplement at the onset of allergies makes the histamine reaction less. Don't know if it's true though.

I hate allergies as well. Yuck.

He told me I can take 2 Zyrtec in a 24 hour period.  I'm kicking myself today because I haven't taken the 2nd one the last couple of days.  I definitely am taking one tonight!!!!!!!!  I just hate taking twice the recommended dose for so long!  If he says it's safe I feel okay doing it but man it makes me sleepy!  I just can't win.  Either fall asleep at my desk or sit and sneeze all day long.  :-(  I guess with the sleepiness I could drink some coffee.  That might have to be the solution.

can you take some daytime stuff?  the otc usually works for me when I get a bad attack but maybe your dr. would think otherwise

I'm not sure what you mean by "daytime stuff"?

When it gets really bad I will take a Benedryl but that means I am 100% going to fall asleep after taking it.  It makes me feel better but I need to sleep for about 3 hours after I take it.

Taking one Zyrtec doesn't usually make me too sleepy.  Two normally does though.  And I get tired anyway with allergies because my body is trying to fight off allergens and it gets worn out!

Days like today though make me so glad I started shots because I can't imagine going through this every spring and fall like I used to.  I just really really hope that this doesn't mean I had a relapse.  That can happen with people who get shots.  PLEASE NO!!!!

Basically the whole situation is Le Suck.
