Oh my gosh HI!

Brace yourselves for an awkwardly enthusiastic intro. Somehow, although I've been nesting in H&F and F&B for like 3 years, I NEVER KNEW THIS BOARD WAS HERE! I am a HUGE plant and garden fan. I think I could spend all day talking and thinking about plants. I have a huge bed of tulips and daffodils in my front yard, with snapdragons that take over when the bulbs die off and then mums that take over for the snapdragons. Off to one side is a floppy, unusual sort of peony with a fuzzy pink inside. There's some lamb's ear and a burning bush. On the other side of the front door I just put in 4 boxwoood shrubs and some pansies to fill in the gaps between the shrubs until they bush out a little. There is some pink creeping phlox around the mailbox with a few more daffodils.

Out back I have 3 rose bushes (pink, sunset, red) a bunch of irises, and 3 HUGE peony bushes. MOST of this stuff was there when I moved into the house, but I did the bulbs and, as I said, the shrubs. I also do some annuals each spring and a vegetable garden and strawberries. Inside, I have 3 orchids (still learning to care for those) and a smattering of house plants.

My newest babies are a mini-rose plant I got (yellow flowers) that I will plant later this year and a calla lily that I will have to take inside over the winter. Calla lilies are some of my faves - I promised myself if I can keep this one alive, I can get more next year.

Oh also, I work in a cubicle and I have (hang on, let me count) 13 desk plants. Thank you very kindly if you've read this far. Now I'll go and lurk like a good newbie.
