My wife and I have just?gotten?married a few days ago but have been together almost 4 years and are in a good place in our life together. When i was 16 i lost my father to a heart attack in his sleep and my wife has never known her father. Both of our mothers are alive but I fear that if we wait to long to have children my mother and her mother will not get a chance to know them and watch them grow up. Am I right for thinking this way? I want our child to know their grandmothers as much as they can.?

Re: Baby or no Baby?
Of course you will think about your moms getting to be grandparents, but of course that's not a reason to have a baby. You can't predict the lifespan of anyone in your family - and you can't plan your family around those predictions either. I don't think there's anything wrong with thinking about this - but I do think that there'd be something wrong with hurrying up to have a baby for just this reason.

It's normal to have thoughts like this, but I don't think it really should be one of the leading reasons you choose to have a baby at this point in your life. You should have kids when you both feel comfortable and ready to take that next step in your relationship. Like Mrs. F said you can never predict how long someone will be with us.
Congratulations on your marriage by the way:)
