Inexpensive Patio Furniture

I am in need of a cheap set asap! We had a set with a glass top insert and the whole thing just shattered! Because this was unexpected, I don't want to spend too much on this - $400 max for the whole set but I would prefer cheaper. Does anyone have any suggestions? TIA!!

Re: Inexpensive Patio Furniture

  • Ours shattered last summer. Now I know what "a million" looks like b/c that's how many pieces I swear ours broke into!

We actually got some thin treated wood cut to the same size and then I stained it with waterproof stain.  We are using it temporarily until we can buy a discounted set after July 4 (I think that's when they'll start to discount)

  • Thanks for the tip! Out of curiosity, how did you clean all that glass?

Most of it broke on our deck so we kept sweeping it up onto cardboard and then into boxes since we couldn't throw it all out at once in the trash can.  The other half million pieces that were on the grass we used the shop vac and vacuumed the grass!!!

  • I have the opposite problem. I found a really nice glass top table and the thrift store, but now I can't find chairs that I like for anything near reasonable.

  • I will second waiting until after the 4th of July.  You can get a nice set for MUCH cheaper than you can get one now.  We got our set for $250 from Sears at the end of July two years ago, when it was originally $500.  If you can find a temporary solution, like the wooden top as suggested above, you could get yourself a nice set for much less than you can get one now if you wait.
  • Big Lots! They have lots of quality sets for under that price. We love ours. Good luck.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.
