First Anniversary...

So our First Anniversary is coming up on July 9th. I'm such a planner but for some reason I can't figure out anything for this day. We've had several plans but they all fell through. First it was gonna be a laid back day at home then a few months later we were supposed to go to San Diego but we came to realize that would cost to much for us right now. Then we were gonna go to Niagra Falls for a long weekend but my best friend sister planned my friends Bachelorette Party & Bridal Shower for that weekend & the weekend after we both work. Also our lease is up around that time so we will be in the process of moving. We've been together for almost 7 years now but I want to make this day special. I thought of doing an anniversary photoshoot but I wasn't sure. Any suggestions?

Re: First Anniversary...

  • I can't believe how similar your post is to me!  My husband and I have been together for 7 years and are celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary on June 11.  We talked about Niagra Falls as well.  We also discussed NYC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. Ultimately we have decided on a simple weekend getaway to D.C. which is only about a 3 hours drive for us.  We had a serious discussion on this because we are also looking to save to move into a house so we're only going to stay over 1 night and do some museums and a nice dinner.  I think just getting away from your usual setting and daily routine will be a nice way to celebrate your day : )  I'm sure whatever you decide to do together will be wonderful!  Good luck and Happy Anniversary!

  • So funny, our anniversary is on July 9th too! : ) We are headed to Miami for a few days for a bit of relaxation but we arent staying that long because we our tentative closing date is around that time and we're moving too!

My suggestions are to do maybe to do a little getaway the weekend before since you will be busy the weekend of and after. I've never used it but I heard that groupon and living social have amazing deals on weekend getaways.
