Question about paint color
I posted this question three days ago and nobody answered so I'm hoping this weekend someone can help.
I saw this color blue green gem by Kelly Moore paints that I feelin love with. I got a swatch in the mail but found out that they do not have a store here in Illinois . Can home depot make the color out of that paper swatch? Wouldit come out the same? Anybody know if there is another color that is the same as this by another brand? Thanks in advance.
Re: Question about paint color
Sorry, most people decamped for a new board: http://pandce.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=homegarden
But the answer is yes, any paint company can color match any other paint company's chips. You can take a BM swatch to HD, SW, Ace, Lowe's...anywhere and they should do it for you. You may get a stick-in-the-mud clerk who'll refuse to do it, but just come back another day.
As for whether it'll come out the same, the simple answer is yes. The complicated answer is sort of. All paint companies have different bases for their paints: one company's base will have a drop more blue in it, another will have a drop more yellow. The result is that when you color match paint, the color will be infinitesimally off from the swatch, something not noticeable by mere mortals and only discernible by the experts at the paint companies.
