How to put this so he understands
My husband and I have been together for 7 years and married for almost 1 year. While we dated in college, there wasn't alot of room for foreplay and intense make out sessions due to roommates and lack of privacy. My husband and I had dated other people before we met but not seriously so we were each others first real long-term relationships and first for sex. We've had to work on it to find what the other likes and doesn't like etc. But lately I've found that my husband is a horrible kisser! I try to help by trying to initiate the kiss and take the lead but he doesn't really follow what I'm doing. It's almost a bit lazy...it starts out okay but then he just starts doing the same thing with his tongue and opening his mouth wide to wide and it gets really wet and almost slobbery. I love him to death but it's hard to get really intense and turned on when I'm not really enjoying the kiss. I tried to talk to him about it and he got really upset with me and tuned out what I was trying to say. I didn't say he was terrible but I asked him if he would work on it with me because sometimes it's too wet for me to enjoy and get turned on by. We've always been open to talking about things and working on things such as sex but this made him so upset. Any suggestions for what I could do differently to try and help him? I've tried ignoring it and like I said before, I've tried taking the lead and controlling it but he just gets lazy and almost bored with it. He's not into a lot of foreplay so i understand he doesn't want to make out constantly but to help rev things up, it'd be nice.

"It really turns me on when you......"
Make it about you. Not him.
But, don't say, "I am turned off by...."
Also, compliment him in other bedroom things so he doesn't feel like a total bust. I find that a great remark about the size of the equipment does wonders to boost DH's confidence/willingness to receive hints about his overly wet kissing and we've been married for six years. LOL.
