Tips for using Behr to restore the deck?

Hubby and I plan on using the Behr all-in-one prep for deck cleaning and then use the Behr premium weatherproofing stain. Any tips for effective application? I suck at this sort of thing!

Re: Tips for using Behr to restore the deck?

  • Honestly, it's about quality stain/waterproofing.

I would clean, and sand if there are spots taht need it.  Putting the stain/waterproofing stuff on is the easy part.  That's why I make sure to my effort into researching the product.  I would start with finding out if what you are using is good or not.

I can tell you this, years ago I used their semi-transparent stain/waterproofer.  It sucked.  It didn't soak into the wood.  It was more like a paint, and I had to redo it every year, and where the sun hit the porch the most, the stain would peel.  They may have a better one now, but I hated the product.

  • Thanks for your advice!
