I need to bring a dessert for a party on Sunday that has over 100 people coming. Any thoughts? I was looking on pinterest, but haven't found anything that is going to take forever. TIA!
Re: Dessert ideas
What kind of dessert and what kind of party?
For bbq'syou could do some sort of traditional jello/pretzel thing or cream cheese brownies or blondies.
What I bring really depends on the occasion. Last time I took a dessert, I took a flourless chocolate gateau served with raspberries. I've also been known to take homemade (not from a box) brownies, apple upside down cake, lemon meringue pie, and homemade ice cream (we have an ice cream maker).
It's an outside BBQ. I was thinking a trifle, but now that it's gonna be 90 on Sunday, I have to think of something else.
I would check out Kraft recipes for desserts. They are usually quick to make and the ones that I have made are really good without requiring a ton of ingredients.
Also, to our last picnic, I took mini cheesecakes, but for 100 that could take awhile.
cookies? too uninspiring?
What about those pretzels with the chocolate melted on them and an mm stuck in the middle...you could do them to look patriotic....
Are kids coming as well? I always liked when our good friends would make "dirt cake" for the kids. They would put it in a sand bucket with a shovel as the serving utensil. Oh and the gummy worms made it extra special!
