I know this board is kind of dead now. You all were so much help while we were looking for a house and I am now looking for restaurant help.
We will be going to the MFAH on Saturday afternoon. We want to eat somewhere not generic. Doesn't have to be fancy or can be. Not sure if anything is within walking distance of the museum or not. We like a wide variety of food. I think the only thing we don't want is Mexican.
Any ideas?
Re: Restaurants near MFAH
Cafe Express is actually in the Museum, but I don't know if you consider that generic or not.
Rice Village is very close by (take Bissonnett to Greenbriar, turn left, then right on rice). Hungry's Cafe is there and it is delicious - mediterranean american fusion. Black Walnut is a great salad place in the Village. There are some newer places there too but I just don't know their names.
The other direction (north) from the museum is Julia's. juliasbistro.com
