What do y'all feed your dogs?

We have a doberman mix, and a lab/pit mix, we've been feeding them Purina, and I know that's awful. We don't know a lot about what would be the best to feed them, so I was hoping y'all could help. We want to get them on better foods for their breeds.

Both of the brands I mentioned are about $45 for a 30-lb bag. One bag lasts a month between my 2 dogs (45-lb Aussie and 60lb pittie).
We feed our two labs - Science Diet Healthy Mobility. Our yellow lab has arthritis and has had two very painful surgeries to correct it but unfortunately he will always deal with this. The healthy mobility has been great for him however. We noticed a improvement in his movements about 3 weeks after starting him on it. Our labs are 6 years old and the yellow is 110lbs. and the black is 86lbs. We usually go through a 35lb bag every 2-3 weeks. Usual price is $47
Science Diet isn't that great for dogs. It has tons of corn and low-quality fillers. I used to feed it to my lab until I started posting here and learned of how crappy it was. When my lab ate it, he couldn't ANYTHING else (not even treats or peanut butter) because he got an upset stomach. He had ear infections all the time and his anal glands wouldn't express on their own.
I switched him to Wellness CORE (he now lives with my ex-husband, so I'm guessing he still eats it) and he lost some extra weight, coat got softer and shinier, no more ear infections and no more manual gland expression!

My pit is on Wellness fish formula (she only eats 2 1/2 cups a day and she weighs a healthy 65 pounds) It costs me around 50-55 a bag depending on sales.
My min pin eats Natures balance (might be natural balance, drawing a blank) Fish and sweet potato formula.
A key to looking for good foods.... It should always list a meat source as its first ingredient, it should NEVER say chicken bi-product, beef bi-product, etc. Bi-product means the left over parts like bones and feet after all the good meat is gone. It should not have corn listed ANYWHERE in the ingredients. That is a cheap filler and most dogs are allergic.
Sometimes its scary at first when you are use to paying 25 bucks for a huge bag and then suddenly you are paying twice as much. But realize you will be feeding half if not more of what you were feeding before. Better food means better nutrition, and less they need to eat (trust me, your dogs won't starve) Plus less food=less poop!
My 65-lb pittie gets a cup and a half at each meal (he eats twice a day) because he's SUPER active, and my 40-lb Aussie gets a little less than a full cup at each meal.
Thank you. They're our first dogs, and up until recently we didn't realize that their food wasn't very good for them. I have no problem paying more to make sure they're healthy, and getting all the nutrients they need.

Check out the board FAQs on dog nutrition (link in green header box on main Pets page). I used to feed my lab Science Diet and though he was healthy, but Science Diet is actually a really poor quality food. I switched him to a grain-free food, and the change in him was amazing.
