Re: Brightening up a room
What is that over the sink? It looks like a window to me.
I'd do a light yellow. It will reflect a lot of the light that you do have and open things up.
It's just an opening to the living room. The house we own has been added onto. I think it use to be an actual window looking outside at one time. I wish it still was. I love looking outside.
We talked at length about your kitchen ages ago, didn't we? I remember the fridge and cart!
I think pale blue or green would do a lot. Right now with the light tan walls and wood, I think it's just "warm" in there - that's all you see. Blue and green will balance the warm tones in the wood well.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I immediately thought this (pale blue) when I looked at the pics. Also, add some under cabinet lighting?
Yes, and that cart has sinced been moved lol. Those are the old pics that I took awhile back. I feel that it's too warm in there too and with there being no natural light I don't have much to work with. Do you have any suggestions on shades of blue? The counter tops are like a blue/gray color.
That's a very pretty color!
