Bed Frame Help!

SO and I just bought our first "nice" mattress set, and it just arrived this morning....unfortunately SO's decision to go with the standard profile boxspring was not the best idea, and now we have a super tall bed with the boxspring and mattress sticking way too far out (I'm pretty sure the sham I have won't even reach the top of the bed frame. Here is the best I could do for an illustrative picture (we're not putting any linens on until the bed airs out a bit): image

I think we should buy a new, inexpensive, bed frame that can accomodate the box spring since we can't return it. Any chance you know somewhere that sells inexpensive bed frames that can fit a boxspring? I'm pretty sure that IKEA won't work out because their beds use slats, but I'm willing to check them out because that's really our price range for a new bed frame right now...

Re: Bed Frame Help!

  • You can put a box spring and mattress on Ikea slats. I actually prefer to do that since Ikea beds are way too low to the ground for my liking. In the stores they also put box springs on top of their slats for reinforcement. (In case kids jump on the beds.)
