Taking care of my girls

It's been a crazy 24 hours.  Late last night K had an allergicereaction to something (we don't know what) which turned into a panic attack. I drove her to the ER where we stayed for a few hours.  I've never been so scared.  I was an EMT so I know a bit about basic medicine/health and I knew she would be fine.  I knew the physiology behind what was happening to hear, and I can read the monitors to understand all of her numbers were normal.  But she was so scared that it terrified me. I've never seen her so sad and worried.  When we finally got home I just held her until she fell asleep, partly because I was too scared to not be awake watching her.

Then this morning we had to take our girl doggie back to the vet because her surgery site isn't healing.  It's bleeding and open and just ucky.  The vet said it's not infected however in order to get the skin to heal we need to put sugar on it and keep it wrapped.  Apparently sugar helps wounds heal by encouraging cell growth and helping to stick the skin together.  I thought it sounded crazy but I've found articles online and it seems to be real.

So that's been my 24 hours of playing nurse.
