Hi!
Fellow military wife whose H is deployed here!
I am your friend. I'm that annoying person that is constantly at the gym every single day. But most people will tell you that while being in SHAPE and having muscle on those bones happens in the gym, fat loss happens with cardio (do you run with your baby in the stroller? That's a super common mom work out) and diet. In fact, most say diet is 70% of weight loss.
I encourage you to jump on Spark People, My fitness Pal, or Livestrong and start food logging.
It's a pain at first, but it becomes a habit, and it'll help you see what your bad habits are.
Also, if you know military moms in the area, you can always ask someone if they want to play swapsies with you. (you watch her baby so she can run errands, and she can watch yours so you can) Even if it'sjust one hour, a couple times a week, it can greatly help you. You have a free gym right there for you! Many people aren't so lucky!
I know what its like to be overweight. Before I met my hubby to be, I weighted 55 pounds more than i did now. Within a year, and many methods of figuring out what was good for me and my body I figured it out.
Weight Watchers- It helped me loose 20-25ish pounds within a month and a half.. it doesnt get old, only problem is having the expenses to keep the habbit up. Yup that quickly died with the amount of money i was spending on healthy food.
Diet pills- They did help with not feeling so hungry, but the sideaffects were way worse. Dont take Alli!!!! ps. take nutrition pills- not diet
Working out- after I stopped weight watchers, i still watched what I ate. I ended up going to the gym and exercising at a speed I could manage. I was able to run my first mile. Once weather was nice I was able to play outside sports with friends like tennis and roller blading. (having your young one running around will help with that)
Measurements- What motivated me alot was to weight myself everyday and measuring myself once a week was worth it. If I was over, i knew to keep on track. With small goals and completing a goal of a inch or half, made me feel great.. Remember take before pictures. weighing yourself everyday helps
Stay active, have fun, stay away from foods that stick to you longer than flavor isnt worth it.
I lost my remaining 30 by being more active, the positive influences from my family and my fiancee, and the motivation I received by measuring myself and weighing myself. Keep too it, you can do it!
You should try the Insanity DVDs..they are frickin HARD but you can do them at home!!!
