Ok, so my doctor retired at the end of last year, which came as a surprise. I mean she's old, so I expected it, but I just thought that I would be assigned/sold to another doctor. This wasn't the case, I was told to find a new doctor on my own.
So I searched, found one, met with her, figured she was ok. So I went for an appointment today and I just don't get a good feeling about her as my doctor. I don't have a valid reason or anything, just doesn't feeli right. She doesn't instil confidence in me, and we seemed to have a lot of miscommunications/misunderstandings.
I'm TTC, so i think it scares me more that shes not just accountable for my well being, but a future baby. Am I overreacting? WWYD?
I want to go in search of a new doctor again!
Re: I know I'm overreacting (re doctor)
When I went to see a doctor for the first time for a physical I had to wait a long time in the waiting room. Then I had to wait a long time in the exam room so I started reading a book. I had a hard time understanding what the doctor was saying through a thick accent when I finally saw her. We just didn't jive and I felt uncomfortable during the whole visit.
The next time I needed a doctor I made an appointment with a different one and she was wonderful. I recommended her to all my friends who needed a doctor.
I see your in Ontario, so am I. Have you tried looking at the College of Physicians site to find dr's accepting patients near you?

I would try and find a dr you like. I am in the same boat, but unfortunately all the dr's where I live are part of one Family Health Team, its a miracle to get your own dr, let alone any dr. If there was another option where I live, I would jump on it fast.
Also have you asked if you could get referred to a OB/GYN? That is what I am doing now.
Your experience is typical - no referral. They may not have any to offer. Did you at least get your file? If not see if you can before it disappears. Yes, I know they need to be kept for whatever number of years (depending on where you live).
If you aren't comfortable with your new doctor, do find a new one.
