stainless steel paints/contact paper for appliances?

So I just bought a house that came with a cream fridge & cream range and black dishwasher.  I plan to replace in 2 years with new appliances when I remodel.

But for now I'd like to just to a quick makeover

Anyone paint their fridge with those stainless steel paints made for appliances?

I have also found contact paper made for appliances

They cost about the same ($70 for a fridge)

Looks like fun and could work... and if it didn't I'd just have to live with it for a couple til summer 2014

I wouldn't.  You can sell them in cream and recoup some of the cost of buying new, but no one's going to want an appliance with silver contact paper on it.

Just live with them as they are.  Both the paint and the contact paper will make them look worse.

Paint the kitchen a color that will work with the current appliances.

I would def. pass on that. The laminate never looks legit on a fridge but morelike a bandaid that you can't figure out what's quite off about it. From what I've seen, the paint isn't much better. I'd hold off until you do your remodel, b/c as others have said, you can recoop some money off your old appliances- which is def. a great thing!!!
