anyone eat spaghetti squash?
I really like it but was reading that it is really high in sugar. Is this a vegetable that you limit?
Re: anyone eat spaghetti squash?
I love it, but I only eat seasonal stuff so I haven't had it since December.
No, I don't limit myself when I eat it. Apples are also high in sugar. All the good pretty much outweigh the bad IMO. Your body NEEDS sugars to function. It does. As long as you're getting those sugars from things like.. squash, and not oreos, it's happy. Compared it to some basic whole grain pasta like Barilla. One serving of Barilla is 200 calories, 1.5g fat, and 2g sugar. One serving of SS is about 42 calories, 0g fat, and 4g sugar... I think I can suck up the extra two grams of sugar for a natural, not processed food item with way more vitamins/minerals.
This link gives full information on spaghetti squash, and even though it has some sugar in it, it's still very low on the Glycemic Index.
