Baby bird net?

We have a momma and poppa bird who constructed a nest inside our entryway. For the last two years, all the babies have fallen out and died after hitting the concrete. I can't stand to see momma bird lose any more babies. She has 5 this year and is there some kind of net or something I can hang underneath it to catch them if they fall out? At the same time I don't want to hinder them getting to/from the nest and I'm worried if I put something too close she will move them.

Any thoughts? TIA.

Re: Baby bird net?

  • Are the babies fully feathered or naked? Unless they are fluffy, the parents are probably ejecting them from the nest (nature is cruel). What kind of birds are they? Then I could tell you more. Instead of a net you are probably best off deterring them from making a nest there by putting something in their way.
