I'm visiting Denver this weekend and would like your opinions on where the best mountain hiking would be. So far Estes Park has been recommended to me....would that be a good place to go? Any other suggestions? There are so many options I'm finding online that it's really hard to choose!
Re: mountain hiking
Do you want 14ers or just a gentle hike? Where will you be staying? What altitude are you coming from?
Really there are a bazillion places to hike and you can't go wrong most places. Estes is nice. There's lots of hiking around there.
Probably a slightly lower elevation (?), Evergreen has some nice hiking that is pretty close to Denver
Don't come from sea level and try to hike to 14,000 feet.
Estes is awesome, but if you are just coming for the weekend, I wouldn't drive there just to hike.
Evergreen has some really good hikes and it is way closer to Denver.
Rocky Mountain National Park has some of the most beautiful hikes in the state! I'm assuming this is what you meant when you listed Estes Park.
If you stay in Estes Park, make sure you eat at Mama Rosa's...yum!
