How many sheet pizzas for this party?

I'm having my son's 5th bday party this weekend. We'll be having snack stuff like chips and dip and salsa, quac and corn chips on the tables.  During dinner we will have  a regular salad and also a fruit salad as well as a veggie tray. I'm ordering pizza for 20 adults and 10 kiddos.  How many sheets would you order.  They are 32 pieces per sheet.  I am thinking 3 but DH thinks 2 would be fine. How many would you order?  What would you add to the menu?  Would you add wings, if so how many dozen?

Tia.

Re: How many sheet pizzas for this party?

  • I would probably do 2 pizzas. That's about 2 pieces per person, and with all the snacks and veggies I think most people would probably only take 1 or 2 pieces. Wings can be messy, but if you'll have enough room for people to sit and eat then they could be fun. I'm not sure how many, though...I'm not a big wing eater, so I'm not sure how many people would normally take.

Instead of wings, I like to serve buffalo chicken dip. There are a million recipes out there, but they're all pretty easy and can be kept warm in a crockpot at a party. Here's my version: http://csa4dinner.wordpress.com/2012/05/24/buffalo-chicken-dip/ (link does not want to become clicky right now, sorry!) In my blog post, I mentioned that I like how it tastes when I bake it ahead of time and then reheat it in the crockpot, but I've also just thrown everything in the crockpot and it turned out ok.

  • yeah, I think two would be good. You could always do a third pizza but not a sheet pizza.  I love pizza and wings, but I do think hot dips are a good alternative too.

  • I would think 2 is fine...but I assume a piece of sheet pizza is smaller then a normal slice (otherwise that would be a huge pizza!)...so in that case I say 3
