RP: Need baking help! In over my head

I want to make this awesome Pinterest dessert someone posted a while back (http://pinterest.com/pin/17029304811126160/). But I only have an 8 x 8 pan to use. It doesn't have the little compartments. I think my best bet is to just do the cookie layer and the brownie layer and forget about the peanut butter cups. How long should I bake it for? I'm thinking I should follow the brownie mix baking instructions. Any thoughts/advice?

  • Wow this does look delicious!!!  I don't have a pan like that either.  I like your idea about the cookie and brownie layers, but I don't think you should dismiss the peanut butter cups.  Maybe just don't use as many.  I would start off baking it for 14 minutes - then check it.  If it's not done yet, bake it another few minutes.  You are always better off setting a timer for less time than you think.  You can always bake it longer if you need to, but if it's overdone - there is nothing you can do about it.

    Good luck!

  • Yum! Definitely let us know how it turns out if you try it. Do you happen to have a regular muffin/cupcake tin? I wonder if that might work too. If the regular size pb cups wouldn't fit, you could always try the mini ones.
  • I would use the PB cups.  It should be fine.  It's going to take a while to cook though because with the compartments each one is surrounded by heat.  With a single pan I'd think it would take at least 30 minutes, but I'd check at 25 minutes to be safe.  It may even take longer.

  • I have never seen a pan like that. But I wouldn't see why you couldn't use a regular muffin/cupcake pan, it is the same just not squares as far as I can see. Good Luck, you need to let us know how it turns out! Big Smile
