Help with super green bathroom....

We are moving at the end of the month into a new home. Everything is renovated on the first floor but the master bath is a complete joke. They have faux green marble tile floors, green laminate counters (think dark forest green), even the walls are painted a light green (gag).  I need to put up with the tile and counters for about a year.  I will paint the walls white to try to defuse some of the green but I'm looking for some ideas to make his work for awhile.

A girlfriend of mine recommended doing a rainforest type theme as a joke and we laughed about it but after going through target today and seeing a zebra shower curtain I thought well maybe if I did a zebra theme at least I would laugh every day instead of throw up.  Anyone have any better ideas, till I can gut it??  Thanks in advance  :)

  • I'd start with the white walls and maybe some neutral decor and go from there.  Perhaps a white shower curtain will also help mute the green.  If you still want to go with the jungle theme after that, then have fun and go for it!  If you can't beat it, join it!
  • Thanks!  Trust me i would never typically do that sort of theme except in a kids room, but this green everywhere is throwing me for a loop.

  • How big is the room? I would get a few extra bath mats to diffuse the green.

  • It's pretty big. It has a garden tub, full shower with the sitting bench, double sink etc.

I think the white might make the green look even brighter. Could you tone it down with a nice tan wall and some tan/bamboo type accessories?

  • Thanks for the tan idea.  I didn't think of the white doing that, but you are probably right.

  • I like your jungle idea! It's just a bathroom, have fun till you have the money to make it nice.

Then again... I have a psycho themed bathroom. So maybe you should just ignore me. I'm a bad influence.
