Here we go again...

Tomorrow starts another 6 week challenge at bootcamp, so back to bland, boring diet. I'll be eating clean and cutting back on wine drastically.

Of course, our NOLA trip falls right in the middle, but I'm going to do my best.

Anyone else working out? I know I've got some of you on MFP, which I'll be on religiously....Queenjane1023 if anyone wants to add me :)

Re: Here we go again...

  • H and I started running again. This past weekend was a bust, it's been raining here nonstop in NOLA. We leave in the morning to spend a few days on the gulf coast and I'm certain we won't be running since more rain is forecast. I'll try to eat healthy, but I'm not pushing it until after my birthday next Monday. Then it'll be back to early morning runs before the day gets too hot here.

  • I'm trying to work out faithfully and eat healthy (and not snack too much).  However, ice cream is my major weakness.  I'm doing pretty well - I'm very happy with my progress so far, and I feel I've hit a plateau.  I would love to lose another 10 or so pounds, but that may be pushing it.  We'll see.  I'm also on MFP as well, and have added some of you as well.  athlete010688 if anyone else wants to add me.

  • Once my back is better I'll be back on MFP. Right now I just have no motivation to eat healthy since I can't exercise to go with it.
  • Yes, I'm back in the saddle. I am huge into biking, but I feel like I need to change things up, so I'm doing couch to 5K. I can't believe how hard running is on my body. It's frustrating, feeling like I could go for hours on a bike to feeling like 20 minutes is forever in running. I could use some tips. Do I just go slower, like, really slow? I don't know what I'm doing.

  • I'm not doing any big races again until September, when I do my next half.  But I did join a running group, so I'm hoping to run with them at least once a week, then in July I'll start upping my mileage again.

Still working on the eating better....

  • I'm going to try to start eating a little bit better & do some more walking, swimming & biking. I'm going to Key West in a month, so that's my motivation.

I admire your ability to cut back on wine. Me, not so much.

Only time will tell, after all, this is only Day 1.

    I need some motivation!!

DO IT DO IT DO IT.

Idk, I just got sick of feeling like a blob and having my belly hang out over my jeans.  I got so mad at myself for being where I wanted to last October and then letting myself go again. I could smack myself, seriously, so stupid.

Also, everyone at work seems to be on this healthy kick or losing weight so I figured it was time to pony up again.

  • I have all the motivation I need but am physically unable to work out. I will definitely look into MFP once I get better. I am trying my best to not eat junk. I have been doing pretty good in that respect.

I remember hearing that running 1 mile is equal to biking 3, but I feel the main difference is running involves way more pounding on your joints etc and no gliding at all :(

Have you tried yoga? I had been a runner for years, but stopped after college about 4 years ago (no longer had a coach to get on me about races or practicing etc) so needless to say I was slightly out of running shape, but I trained and ran my first 1/2 marathon this summer, doing yoga 3 or 4 times a week for around 30 minutes and running with a little biking in there too. I thought the yoga really helped me control my breathing since that's a big focus, plus it helps with your muscle strength too, and helps stretch out sore muscles. Check out http://www.doyogawithme.com/yoga_classes for some free yoga videos!

You can do it! (this part is for me too, since now that the half marathon has passed I have been slacking as well...)

  • Everyone at my work has been on a health kick too!!  I just found out DH and his friends booked a boat to take out on a lake at the end of the month.  There's my motivation... I've gotta fit into that bikini (and only have like 3 weeks to do so, ha)!
  • I'm back in the saddle too! DH and I have been on MFP since Jan, and he lost 27lbs while I lost 9. FML. Anywho, after the m/c I kinda fell off the wagon for about 3 weeks, but I'm back in it today! So happy to be back! QueenJane I'm going to add you now if that's cool! My name is scamberlous.

  • I have got to get back on track, but I really suck with the MFP business because I get too stressed about what I'm eating and getting it into my phone. I'm going to try and get back into the swing of working out more. Playing soccer once a week doesn't count. That's why my pants don't fit...
  •

Good luck ZO, you can do it!

I'm running, but that is nothing new as I am usually running :) I just started a new blog, www.capeislandrunners.wordpress.com,  if anyone is interested in reading running related posts :)

Apologies that this was also just posted on TK yesterday. Dee let me know most of you had migrated, so figured I would out put it on here too!

  • I never really totally give up on exercise, so I do Zumba on Wed at lunch and the other days I do a combo of zumba on the Wii, exercise videos or go to the gym. I also walk my dog in the evening too. I have bad plantar fasciitis, so I really don't like running although every so often I will jog a bit on the treadmill to kick up the cardio. Otherwise, I usually just do a brisk walk on the treadmill or do the elliptical. I don't think I lost weight but I am between my old size and my "fat" size now, so I feel like I definitely am reshaping if anything. I was tracking on Spark People for a while, but have been slacking lately. I also need to watch my snacking, but at least half the time I was good about snacking on fruit or yogurt.

That's awseome!  Guys always lose weight so much faster!  I started MFP in January and have lost just over 15 pounds.  DH, however, saw how motivated I was, and we joined a gym.  He's lost over 25 pounds!  He's definently not as serious as I am, and it kills me that he's lost over 10 more pounds than me!

    I need some motivation!!

My motivation was that I have never been this heavy in my life!  And that fact that my mom was telling me that when I get pregnant, I'll gain weight.  (Which obviously I knew)  But when she said "when you're pregnant, you could be pushing 180 if you don't lose weight"...reality hit me!

andplusalso... I was sick and tired of looking down and seeing my stomach!  I hated the way I looked in pictures.  Several pictures on our honeymoon, my stomach is sticking out! LOL.  So, it was time to change!  DH and I have pictures from the wedding, honeymoon, and cruise around the house, and we're so much bigger in those pictures than we are now.  You can totally see it in my face, arms, and stomach.

My motivation now, is that I love seeing the results I've seen, and I don't want to go back!

  • I'm back on the weightloss wagon. I gained about 10 lbs since the wedding, and It's quite annoying since it took me over 2 years to get to my pre-wedding weight. My husband (who is a stick) is attempting to gain some weight...so that is making for interesting meals!
