Re: B&M Monday

  • I've gotta start this one...

As you probably know, we are in the midst of a kitchen renovation. Complete gut job, new everything. Things have been going somewhat smoothly, no major problems so far. Of course that can never be the case. DH got all of the upper cabinets in over the weekend, and was starting on the base cabinets (which need to be in for the granite people to come measure). He got the hardest one in--the sink base, which is the corner for us--and then he was going to go from there with the others. Well, he went to open the box for the next cabinet and it is broken. I think it was made incorrectly because the whole back just looks like off. He then decides to un-box the remaining ones to check, and found a second broken one, that one looks like it could have been damaged during shipping. Needless to say, we have to wait for replacements, which pushes the granite back, which means going several more weeks with no sink. I am beyond annoyed.

On top of that, DH is gone for the entire week for a business trip. And the end of the school year stress is starting to hit me with all that I have to get done.

  • A girl in my morning statistics class spilled her huge 32oz drink all over the floor under my desk and then just sat there without ever making a move to clean it up. There wasn't anywhere else for me to sit, so I ran to the bathroom really quick to get some paper towels to clean it up. It took two trips and I ended up missing some of the lecture while I was getting the paper towels.

Then, after it is all cleaned up and class is over, she turns to me and says "thanks so much for cleaning that up" all cheerful. Um... I pretty much didn't have a choice. How about next time you take care of your own mess.

  • DH and I have been lazy lately and not doing stuff around the house that I wanted done awhile ago. There is STILL no bathroom fan installed, the light fixture in the garage has a lose wire and therefore is a safety hazard.

I bought some tanktops super cheap from Old Navy about a month ago and wore one of them for the first time yesturday; they're a size too small and so I can only wear them under another shirt and not by itself.

Also, I wish I could lose a few pounds :(.

  • I need more sleep. An an assistant. And a landscaper. And a dog walker. And a house cleaner. And a personal cook. And a kitty. And a long walk. And a money tree - or free college money.

None of which are possible. That's my B&M.

  • I hear ya Cole.

Without taking up 30 mins of your time reading my loooooong B&M I'll leave it at this...... I need a new job. I'm about to go crazy here at work today and tomorrow isn't looking food either.

  • M's birthday is tomorrow and he doesn't want to do anything. He doesn't want me to make a cake. He doesn't want to go out to dinner... just getting him to pick something for to make for dinner was like pulling teeth.

It makes me a little sad that he's so anti-birthday because I'd love to plan fun things to celebrate.

  • The school year is over next Friday and I'm swamped with work, Katie has a fever and just isn't herself, and I desperately need a money tree or to win the lottery.

A family friend's husband was like this and it would make her so frustrated. Then they had kids and she was able to finally release all her fun things :)

  • I put in an offer on a condo and the seller is trying to say I need to offer above her asking price if I want her to pay closing costs.  Kind of annoyed about that.

Also, I woke up from a nap before and my ear was hurting.  I had an ear infection a month ago that I don't think cleared up totally, but I never went back to the doctor.  It bothers me off and on, but today was worse.  I took some ibuprofen and it feels better.  Hoping it's really fine as I don't have health insurance right now and don't feel like paying out of pocket (although even when I do get insurance there's a pretty high deductible so I'll be paying out of pocket anyway).

Other than that, I'm on summer vacation and it's wonderful, so I can't really complain overall! Smile

  • I found out that I didn't get the third grade position that I interviewed for.

I found out as I walked down the hall, before I even made it to my classroom.

or the First grade position that opened up.

or the long term sub pay I was told I would get ($44/day increase).

My teaching license expires in a year and I have no continuing credits to renew it or money to take classes.

    This is me tonight Crying

I'm so sorry! I know how you feel. Are you positive that your license expires even though you haven't "used" it? I am certified in both MA and CT, and I know every state is different, but in MA mine doesn't expire until I have used it for 5 years (meaning as a contracted teacher) and in CT in can renew I want to say 3 or 4 times without having to go to the next level or complete additional coursework. With so many certified teachers out there without jobs, you would think that they would do something to help them keep their licenses.

    Hugs! hang in there!!
