Really Bad Gas

I know people have posted about similar issues in the past (back when I was on here all the time) but I don't have time to search a bunch so I am going the lazy route ... sorry

We adopted our 12 yr old Weimy foster a monthish ago and when she was in foster the rescue provided food so I fed her whatever they gave us (which varied depending on what was donated).  Since adopting her I transitioned her to what we feed our other girls, TOTW Bison formula.  She has had really bad room clearing gas since then.  In the past she would occasionally have some bad ones but they have become regular.  I thought maybe she just needed some time to adjust but they are still regular enough that I am concerned it is the food.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Re: Really Bad Gas

  • My pups were having terrible gas as well and narrowed it down to rawhide bones. As soon as we took them away everything got so much better.

Are her stools normal? I would consider going to the vet and asking for a probiotic to give to your dog. This will help put good bacteria into her stomach and hopefully clear up the bad gas. You could also try giving her plain yogurt with her food to see if that helps clear things up.

  • Bison made my dogs (Am. Bulldog and lab) super gassy. The only TOTW we can feed them without gas is the lamb formula.
  • Thanks guys!  I think I am going to switch her to another TOTW Formula.
