AW: Father's Day gift

DH made me promise not to do anything big (read: expensive) for Father's Day, since we're currently down my salary and have a lot going on. So I decided to just take some adorable pictures of the baby and frame them for his office. Thought I'd share...

I know I'm biased, but I think they're pretty freaking adorable.

  • Oh, boo.  I can't see the pic.

BTW - congrats!  I must have missed an announcement...I have been wondering how you were doing!

Just fixed it, hopefully you can see now.

And thanks! I posted after he was born, but the post got deleted when The Nest went crazy...

  • Nope, you're right, they are adorable. And congrats!

  • Congrats!!   He's adorable.

Did you blog a birth story?   I'm kind of obsessed with reading birth stories right now.

  • That's great, we're doing something similar today

  • Seriously, I can't stand that face. It's too amazingly cute.
  • so cute! He looks so different already! I love his little mohawk

I wanted to do that with each kid holding a letter but I foresee it being a disaster for sure.

Someone once told me that for every 100 pictures your take of a kid, you get 1 good one. Could you photograph them separately?

  • Love them.  I totally should have done that with Emma when she would sit still.  Now it would be a losing battle.  We tried T-W-O for her birthday, it barely worked.
  • so cute!!!

  • Thanks, ladies!

I didn't blog a birth story (not really the right subject area for my blog). I posted one on here, but TN ate it. There wasn't anything too interesting, to be honest. Abridged version: my water broke at 1am at home, and when I got the hospital I was 4cm dilated. In an hour and a half I was at 8cm with contractions coming pretty much constantly. I got an epidural at that point (best decision ever, thank you modern medicine) and things slowed down. A few hours later it was time to push -- which lasted about 40 minutes -- and he arrived at 9:36am.

Abington was great, we had really good experiences with all of the nurses and staff. Unfortunately the doctor from my practice that was supposed to come on duty right before I was ready to deliver didn't show up for some reason, so the staff doctor delivered me. Didn't really matter to me, but I imagine it would have for some people. The doctor was good, except when she told me to push "even harder" when I was already about to burst blood vessels, and I almost kicked her in the face.

Overall, hardest thing I've ever done, but pretty amazing too. And being a mom is completely awesome.

  • Adorable, Jess! G is going to love it!

Sounds like a pretty awesome 1st birth experience to me!
