Have you painted dining room chairs?
We bought a Bassett dining room set from cl a few year ago. it was painted brown by previous owners. Under the paint is light wood (not sure what species). I want to paint the chairs and table and would appreciate any tips or tricks.
sometimes all you really need in life is a pink wig.
Re: Have you painted dining room chairs?
Its really easy....just wipe them off to make sure there isn't any dirt, dust or grease on them, grab a brush and start painting! It it has a lot of spindles in the back of the chair it might be easier to spray paint them. However that will probably be a lot more expensive than just buying a quart of paint for 12 bucks. You can use a foam roller on the seat (if it isn't cushioned) so you don't have brush marks. Be prepared to do about 3-4 coats to get complete coverage. Also, you'll want to use at least a satin sheen or high for durability. A flat paint will not stand up to daily use.

If you spray them, either use a primer first, or a paint and primer in one.
It's not necessary 100% of the time, but always a good idea. I've had trouble getting paint to adhere to furniture with no primer in the past.
