Good news

If you read my PB post I just wanted to say thank you for the vibes, thoughts and prayers :) the blood work came back negative!!!!! Sooo happy and relieved.

Also we had our second appointment today. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time! 150 bpm :)

I do wish we could have see the baby again though.

The only not good thing is that I've been so sick I've lost 6 lbs since our last appointment 4 weeks ago. They gave me Zophran to see if that helps.

  • That's great that it came back negative.  If I remember correctly that means your husband is not a carrier, so you never have to worry for future children either.

    That us correct :)

The only thing is I might pass the carrier gene to the baby. Then they would need to get tested before having babies.

  • I was on Zofran and it didn't totally eliminate the morning sickness but it did make it a lot less than it was.

  • Anything at this point would be better. She didn't like that I'd lost the weight but it's not like was was under weight when I got pregnant. My BMI was right at the borderline that if I gained like 2 more lbs it would classify me as "over weight" ( I was 142 when we found out, 146 at 9 week apt and 140 today and that was right after eating a lot)

I just want to not feel sick and for the gagging to stop lol

  • Thats awesome news about the test results -now you can relax and enjoy this pregnancy! I'm sorry to hear that you still has morning sickness though- hopefully the medication worked. For me, sucking on jolly ranchers and wearing the sea-sickness worst bands seemed to help (or maybe it was just all in my head lol) Feel better!

The fact that you weren't under weight but on the higher end of your weight for height is a helpful thing when you have bad morning sickness. In general baby get's what baby needs and you just loose the weight.

I remember the feeling of just not wanting to feel sick and the gagging to stop. Hopefully this way at least you'll be able to eat something and keep it down. I know I didn't eat much but at least I could eat something. The first few months I almost lived on eating peaches since that was the only thing that seemed and tasted good to me.

  • Thanks ladies :)

Youre right Johlise, i was glad to read that the baby would still get what it needs in the beginning even if I'm sick. I do hope it passes quickly.

  • Thank you Sarah.

    We ate

Doing to blood work for down's and the trisomony (sp?) in a couple weeks too. The lab work is scary enough to wait for it to get back. How do you mothers handle a baby that's actually out there!? Lol ;)
